Candor by Pam Bachorz

A futuristic teen book--not my preferred reading genre. I think this book is supposed to be a criticism of towns like Celebration, Florida (the one that Disney World created). The town of Candor is perfect, but only because the adults control the minds of the people in it. Teenagers are sent subliminal "messages" and behave according to how a perfect teenager is supposed to behave. Thus, individual personalities are wiped out so parents can have obedient, respectful children. There was a love story in the center of the story--you know: rebel boy tries to save girlfriend from terrible fate. The story was too juvenile for me to enjoy the book. Oh, and I think the idea of a town like Celebration is a pretty nifty idea, even though there is no brainwashing going on.
