Glass by Ellen Hopkins

This book picks up where Crank left off; it covers one more year in the life of Kristina. I didn't think it was possible for Kristina to descend to any lower depths of drug addiction, but she manages to do just that in this book. She dropped out of high school, turns 18, and becomes a drug dealer as well as user. It's the kind of story that makes you shake your head and wonder how people can get so messed up. It also makes you realize how many people get hurt when someone is so addicted to drugs. In this book, Kristina destroys her body, her brain, and her relationships with just about everyone. She has totally lost track of her morals because the "glass" has eaten her brain away. At the end when she is arrested for trafficking, you realize jail is her only hope of getting clean. And even then you know she'll go back to using as soon as she is gets the chance.
